I currenlty have 2 Pituophis Deppei Deppei (mexican bull / gopher snakes)
I have had them for a year and found to my great misfortune that the level of reptile knowledge here in Aguascalientes Mexico (where i am currently living) is as good as non existent.
E.G. Went to a vet here who is supposed to know about snakes and told me that Bull snakes were called Bull snakes due to the fact that they grow horns later in life(Worrying). This coupled with the fact that nearly all of the snakes on display had incomplete sheds and respiritory problems led me to the understanding that i was better dealing with my pets by myself.
My snakes are doing really well, they eat regularly, shed complete and are as active as bull snakes get. But i would really like to identify there sex for future reference.
Is it wise to do this or am i just risking the lives of my snakes???
if anybody has any advise i would be most greatful
Andy.
