Guess what he's 100% het for?!?!?!?!?!

And here are two of his future girlfriends. If all goes well, I'll be producing some very nice pieds several years down the road. No shortcuts here. I paid @ $450 for the above snake and its worth every penny since I trust the background completely on his genetics.

Jason,

The females are not het for Piebald? That means probably if you produce a clutch in the next few years you will have to keep all females from that clutch. They will all be possible hets. And then the father has to come in action on all of them right? Wow, tought project LOL. I have tried to breed BP's for about 7 years without success.. I just gave up.

every once in awhile its nice to change pace. In fact, I obtained alot of my 50 other 'non-corn' snakes as a result of people posting pics of them in this forum.

a lot of us "corn" people have other snakes and we don't mind the occaisional "off topic" photos.
We don't flood the forum with them so the moderators don't really seem to mind. so far anyway.
I can't speak for Jason but if my occaisonal rat snake pictures bother the regulars on this forum just let me know and I will keep them on the appropriate forum.
As far as Jason's Bairdi and Ball python pictures go, I personally don't mind at all and appreciate the chance to see the variety that some of my fellow corn snake enthusiasts keep,
without having to jump from forum to forum to forum.
so, thanks Jason

I personally love to see these pictures. It's nice to see what interests people who I know for years via the forum besides corn. I think your remark is quite rude anyway.

thats your preference. But atleast then in the future, please post that it is not a corn, so those of us who dont want to look at non-corns will not check it out. I always like to see the really nice corns that are posted, and I frequent the other forums that interest me as well.
I was by no means trying to be rude, just a personal statement that I felt like posting.
And Im not trying to start another flame-war either.

Before I got my first corn, I thought I would get a ball for my first snake, needless to say, I've stuck with corns so far. I love to see ones as beautiful as that male.

The last time I looked into them, the cheapest I could find Het Pieds was like $2000. Was yours just an awesome deal or have the prices really come down that much?

I'd love to get a pied sometime, but that won't happen until they are at least less than $1000. Fortunately I have the patience to wait however many years that takes. However, if I ever decide to try to breed them, I may be able to get a pied earlier than that if the prices for hets have fallen that much.

dropping fast......

GOOD....I want some.....

can't figure out though...if pr of hets is $1800....then pieds should be from $1800 and up.....but they are still asking $4000 and up to $10,000......

dumb.....pieds are over-priced and hets under-priced.....

.........

.......you can get a low-white pied female for $4500 and up at least..........

Females 100% het for pied are still $2000 but males are down considerably since the last time you probably looked into them. I'm not sure why? Maybe just too many people producing them?

You can pick up a 100% het for Pied male for around $350 BUT you have to make certain it is from a reputable, reliable source...otherwise, you would be extremely frustrated with the time taken to prove (or not prove) him out. I paid more BUT I am more confident that he really is 100% het.

I plan on breeding this 100% het male to several normal females which will give me 50% het/50% normal babies. I'll likely keep all my F1 females (ones with the marker trait and ones without the pied marker trait). I'd likely sell the F1 males as normals.
The baby females would need to be raised up and bred back to the original male pictured so it will take many years and by then, pieds will likely be down to $1-2000 each.

Its still a good investment but I'm not really into it for that...I'm into it b/c Pieds are really awesome, I've wanted one for a LONG time and I simply cannot afford it any other way...even at $1000...its still more than I'd want to pay for one snake.
