.. Right, let me start with saying that I've tried everything.. its been going on for ages ( liturally ever since he started to chance colour ).. even had him tested on bacteria's, called the breeder in the check everything.. Nothing he's as healthy as can be.. with one slight slitch.. my gtp doesn't shed.
This all started when he started changing colours which is 7 months ago now. At first I thought it could have been the change of enclosure as I made him a larger one with automatic mist controller, heating etc. Though it started to becomes annoying when it proved not to be so. I made an appointment with the vet who checked him over and he didn't know what the reason for his shedding problem was either.
Then I called in the breeder ( who I know has alot of knowledge about GTP's ) and he agreed to come see whether the set up was wrong or something else.. again nothing.
it doesn;t seem to effect him though, he is active, eats like he should drinks well and it very alert.
He always shed's his head but its there that it stops. Every time I try letting him do it self.. give him a bow with damp cloth so the skin can loosin up.. yet that never seems to help so in the end I end up getting it off myself.
Also he sheds alot.. everytime when one of his scales goes a ifferent colour then red he goes into his shedding cycle ( in 7 months time he managed to get 3 whole green scales and some yellow ones.. but for the rest he's still red )
Now as far as I am aware the colouring proces hasn't got much to do with the shedding process, though I won't deny that I don't know anything about that, bought him because I fell in love with him not because he will change colour
So for those who don't want to read the things above in short :
- 20 months old Sorong with shedding problems since 7 motnhs
- Hasn't got any infection, no mites etc etc
- Its not his enclosure, and yes have tried pretty much
everything when it comes to the usual shedding
problem resolving things
- Is alert, active. Eats like he should and drinks like he
should.
So finally I turn to the internet and decided to ask even more people about this. Is there a selution? And can it be that some are just bad shedders?
Thx
