little mouth dammage

nhballpython Oct 03, 2004 02:36 PM

Ok heres my question. I am noticing a little damage on my little dragons mouth. right at the tip. I am guessing its from her running intot he side of the cage. I think she is running into it because she can see a reflection for the rest of the tank so the inside of the tank looks alot bigger then it is. Either that or she is seeing her own reflection and trying to run after it. Is there anything i can do to stop the reflection of the glass? And what do i do about the little bit of mouth damage. i dont want it to get worse.
thanks in advance

You can tape paper to the sides of tank, (outside) and back, to cut down on reflections, if shes chasing them.
Atleast for awhile, until her mouth heals.

I use a dab of neosporin on minor sores or cuts.

Maybe others will have more suggestions, as far as reflection chasing I hope her little mouth heals quickly

Maybe some paper on the inside would do the trick.. Just make sure no crickets can hide behind the paper.. Maybe some double sided tape along the bottom or just raise it up a bit so she has some veiw out but limited, and the crix can't get to the paper to hide.. I've dealt with the same issues in the past, but usually the paper on the outside did enough to stop the constant banging and no soars ever.. Maybe try a darker shade of paper as white or the lighter the color the more reflection you'll have. Just some suggestions. Hope the soar heals. Neosporin or a tripple antibiotic cream should do.
