I got some FBT's yesterday

CDP75 Oct 03, 2004 03:47 PM

I was coming back from Atlanta and stop at this exit to get gas and let my dog pee. Behind the gas station was a little shopping area with a petstore. So, I though I'd check it out and they had fire belly toads for $3.
Since, I have be planning on getting some, I came home with three. The owner let me hand pick the three I wanted. All three of them are a different shade of green. My hubby like's the more green one out of the three. That one is the prettiest out of the three. He whinned a little b/c I get diffent colors of them. I told him, I wanted to tell them apart easier.

here's their set-up...it's a 10gal. What do ya'll think?

Here's a top view. I have to get them some food and I'm going to get a background today. I don't like the plain wall behind it.

Looks very nice. Can they get out of the log hole if they go in it?
Since your like me and you like the natural look you could add floating plants like water sprite not alot just a touch the frogs will use them to rest on and the roots eat waste.
Pothos is good to for the shore. I would add more water but its just taste. They do like to swim.
Your set up looks very nice. Your light is it power compact bulb? the hood looks neat.

Thanks!

They can get out of the log. One end has a gap that doesn't touch the side of the tank. I changed the tank today and added more rocks so I could make the water deeper. I also added a filter and made kind of a waterfall. They seem to like it! One of them was perched up behind the water that was coming down. I also took the moss out b/c it was too messy. I thought it would be but I still gave it a try.
I found these lily pad things at petsmart that float. They've been floating around on them.

Wow, I got all 3 in one picture!!

Yea moss is messy. I found mine love the water but want to float on something. I have 5 in a 40 gallon long tank but had 2 in a 10 which is fine but yr later got the 48 inch long tank and they are active little things so do use it but my original 2(still have)were fine in the 10 anyway.
