Russian's are one of the most active of all tortoises. It is also one of the reasons why they are generally a small tortoise. They need to tranverse a very large range to find enough food. Ours are active 6-9 hours a day from early April through early July. In their native range they are only active 3-4 months a year, which is why in captivity they eat everything and get fat very easily. Feeding them 3 times are week is more than enough. All of ours climb and do rock diving all of the time, particularly our males. This is normal behavior and very good exercise for them.
In contrast to our Graeca Graeca (from the lower Atlas Mountains) they are active 2-3 hours a day and rarely climb over the rocks in their enclosure. The active period for Graeca Graece can be 6-9 months during the year so they just aren't as active, since they don't need to be.
Put some Neosporin on it and if it doesn't get better over the weekend get hm to your vet.
