When I had my pair they were growing like weeds. Many say they don't grow quick but I'd have to disagree. They do grow slowler then say retics but at the same time they grow pretty quick imho. anyways nice animal!

Great looking timor, where did you get him? Good luck.

Thank you for your comment. I purchased him from a retail store in Deerfield Beach, FL... www.undergroundreptiles.com i believe they obtained him from the Fort Worth Zoo? John bought a pair from my male's clutch. Can you confirm that they were from the Fort Worth Zoo John? The guys at Underground were inconsistant with what they told me... anyways thanks again. Timors truly are a pleasure to work with.
I went straight to the source. If I would of known bushmaster had them I would of bought them directly from them. They are from the Dallas Fort Worth Zoo. I talked with Kamaran and got hatch dates I believe which if I remember correctly were Sept. 13-14 (or something close) there were 2 clutches that hatched over 2-3 days I was told. I sold my pair awhile ago. Very nice animals which were neat to work with. Do you live in the Area (Deerfield)? I'm in the Coral Springs Area. I do alot of business with both underground and ben siegels. Infact in the past 90% of my business was with Underground. I've gotten away from Retail and have made plenty of contacts. In this hobby it really is who you know! Anyways if you need anything else let me know! Underground does have some stunning adults for sale for less then I paid for the babies! Very Tempting!

thanks for the info. i currently attend school in Melbourne at Florida Tech, but I'm from the Jupiter/West Palm area. I am also very tempted to purchase a female from that group for sale at underground, however, paying for the male took a big chunk out of the money i allow myself to spend on my herp collection. I am currently setting up a cage and purchasing a female Varanus doreanus (Blue-tailed monitor) to put with the male i currently have, so i don't think i'll be able to find the money for another timor, even tho they are at an excellent price. i will probably wait until i am able to find a young captive born female... it may take a while, but i'm sure i'll be able to do it within a couple of years.
Might want to clarify...
Was it the Dallas Zoo, Ft. Worth Zoo, or both? There is no "Dallas Fort Worth Zoo" just FYI...they're two different institutions.

Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean
Ft. Worth Zoo is correct
Sorry about that.
It may be a good idea to find an older female as timors breed at older ages. Either way good luck with your projects.
