Slacker,
..There are nine subspecies that are recognized. There are also Rainbow Boas from Guyana and Trinidad which may be either one or two more as yet unrecognized subspecies. Scroll down to my posts from 9/27 to see some PICs of several different subspecies. The Rainbow Boas which are commonly available in the hobby are the Brazilian Rainbow, Epicrates cenchria cenchria, the Colombian Rainbow, Epicrates cenchria maurus, The Argentine Rainbow, Epicrates cenchria alvarezi and the unrecognized subspecies from Guyana. The Peruvian Rainbow, Epicrates cenchria gaigei, the Isla Marajo Rainbow, Epicrates cenchria barbouri, the Paraguayan Rainbow, Epicrates cenchria crassus and the Campina Grande Rainbow, Epicrates cenchria assisi are rare in captivity. The other subspecies are practically unknown in captivity
