Feeding day a flop!

CaptainHook2 Oct 03, 2004 07:07 PM

None of my snakes will eat this go round. I have 2 balls and a burm. I feed all of them at the same time every other Thursday. Last time one of my balls was in shed so I waited 2 more days till he was done but he wouldn't eat. This time I waited an extra 2 days, until Saturday. Now, none of these crappers will eat. I threw away a whole tray full of morsels. I've had my burm a year and my balls for about 3 months and this has never happened before now. Could they maybe go into hyberbnation? Sounds goofy to me but who knows. I'll try one rat a week until I either run out of food, they eat or someone gives me a better solution.

I find my balls go into a slowdown beginning in Sept.( why does that not sound right? )
Feeding occasionally.I waste a lot of food on them this time of year. Even with artificial conditions, they still wont eat.
The balls are the only snakes that do that to me. All others, burms, BRBs, RTBs, Dumerils...eat all winter long with no change in habits. I am in Connecticut, so we do get some major temp drops beginning right around now.
My balls however ( the snakes ) are still feeding on p/k gerbils. But are beginning to refuse frozen ones, which was not an issue a couple of months back.
