Why "Monster Tail Hypos"?

boaphile Jun 27, 2003 02:39 PM

These are six yearling "Monster Tail" Hypos I kept. We only produced eight last year and kept six of them.

These are they:

Ladies first:

Here are the Boys:

This one is my favorite baby of 2002:

The absolute worst thing about breeding Boas is you have to sell some of them. Sometimes this isn't at all easy.

Do I have to hunt down, and, kill to get the other two??? outstanding Jeff!

I’ll never tell but you could come and kill me if you want any of these. That or it might be easier to just buy some babies. I have a bunch from the same breeding as last years babies. Everyone of last years babies seem to have kept their great color and gotten better. Not like many hypos that have muddied up. Some of the first generation Monster Tail Hypos muddied up a bit though you can still see the underlying strong red influence from their mother. These that I kept are all far better than when they were born and getting better with age like fine wine. I just took pictures of all the new babies and hope to post them in this coming week. I am having fun!

Thanks Rainshadow!

Looking at this boa (which has surely a nice appearence) I see strong markings of a Colombian Boa (shape of the body, tail blotches) and a Boa c. sabogae or another hypomelanistic boa from Panama (shape of the head, shape of the saddle pattern).

Just cross these two boas and you have created something very stunning:

THE MONSTERTAIL BOA

You left me in awe...
