My cape yorks are now over 3 feet, the male is about 38 inches and the female is 36. Im wondering if you think they will be able to go this coming season, as they are just a year old. if so, is there any kind of temp drop i need to put them through, or can i just put them together in the spring?
thanks a lot,
eliot

Elliot,
They should be big enough. I would feed the female well before cooling and make sure she has at least 2-4 weeks after last meal before cooling. I would put them together all winter and spring, and separate them once she is gravid. There are more involved separations and reintroductions, but leaving them together ensures that the timing will not be missed. I keep mine together year round (except for when the female is gravid/incubating eggs).
Good luck,
Justin
