"Vitagreen", anyone ever heard of it?

jrbl Oct 04, 2004 01:53 AM

Hi,
I was a a local farmers market this weekend and found a type of green that I have never seen before. The vendor called it "Vitagreen". The vendor said it was crispier than collard greens and not as bitter. To me, its shape and structure looks like that of collard greens, with the texture and thickness like that of chard, and a smell close to that of mustard greens. Has anyone ever heard of this? Would this be a safe green to feed? I can't find any info on it and the only other thing called vitagreen is some herbal supplement. Thanks for the help, Josh

Next time you see him, ask for the Latin name, so we can look it up in food databases. His seed packaging no doubt has the Latin name for the veggie.
