They were advertised as Russian sand boas, but when they arrived they were Eryx tartaricus, Tartar sand boas---so much for common names. It really made little difference to me as both species were needed for photos.

I had the same thing happen. My pair of Tartars sold as Russians. It appears to be a common mislabeling.
