He is about 14 months old. I thought they were older when this
happens.
He has been acting more tame than ever and bobbing at me all
the time. He has been seeking me out for attention when I
am in his cage which is very unusual. We usually have to play
the same old "chase game" when I am trying to catch him. Well,
this blew my mind! Yesterday I opened his cage and began
cleaning. He was on the top shelf and strolled down to where
he was eye level with me. Just to see what would happen I
put out my hands like you would to pick up a child and said
Come on! He jumped straight out of the cage right onto my
hands. At the same time as he landed I thought he was going
to bite me as he opened his mouth, but then he stopped and
just sat there and let me hold and pet him. Needless to say,
his behavior scared me a little and when I went to put him
back in his cage it pissed him off. I quickly closed the cage
door and got him a towel. I guess the rest is history. He
thought the towel was his mate and did the wild thing.
Wow, my first experience with breeding season. How long does
this last again
I hope he doesn't get mean as he gets
older. Any way to tell?
Linda
