I suggest taking a look at www.herpvetconnection.com and see if maybe one in your area has been referred to the list. That would be a good head start at finding one at least with some knowledge.
Other then that you got to go in and act stupid.. Ask questions about sexing, diet, lights/temps. Basic things you know already. Before you go in you can ask straight up if he's had any experience with Bearded Dragons. Ask if he can maybe refer you to other vets that may be more experienced. Some happen to be pretty honest and straight forward. I was very lucky to find one a few years out of school with some experience. Still very ambitious with learning more about reptiles, diseases, and new treatments himself. Some vets with a long time out of school were not offered the specialized exotic classes that are available today. We basically taught each other a lot of things and where to find new information. Those that are still interested in learning will research, and make contacts to much more skilled and qualified vets, and even people in the hobby, as many hobbiest are much more knowledgeable and in tune with basic ins and outs and noticing symptoms. Hobbiests & breeders deal with Beardies on a daily basis vets maybe every so often. Maybe look for someone who keeps a few reptiles him/herself.
