It depends.

My ig has grown up around my birds. As a result, he's completely unbothered by them, and the birds are unbothered by him.

I'd say if your ig has been able to see and possibly hear your birds for awhile now, chances are that it won't bother him.

In 12 years of reading posts to various Green Iguana forums, I've not heard one instance of an ig being at all interested in birds. IMO green igs would barely register the existence of birds.

But other species of igs actually will opportunistically EAT birds, the C, similis being one, from personal experience.

I have heard of birds being interested in the iguana. Maybe not specifically for eating purposes, but just to nibble on a little if they were loose out of the cage!

My iguana Dexter has jumped onto my Yellow Nape Amazon's cage in an attempt to attack him several times during breeding season. Fortunately, neither has gotten injured in the process. I'm able to remove all of the iguana toes before the bird has a chance to remove them himself...

I assume the issue is simply that he is green, and that's a big no-no during breeding season around here...
