nose rubbing

direwolf Oct 04, 2004 09:46 PM

I have a yearling blue tegu who is about 3feet stl,and just moved him to a massive 8ftx4ftx2ft enclosure. Even though hes got this grand abode, he still insists on rubbing his nose raw on the plexiglass windows. When i covered these windows, he still continued to rub on them, which baffles me. I feed him regularly(usually two small rats every other day,or until he is full, whichever comes first) and have proper temps and humidity(basking temp 130,average cage temp 81-73,and 60% humidity with humid hide). I recently tried to crank down the temps a few degrees, hopefully calming him down, but to no avail. Ok, i think i covered everything, does anyone have any suggestions to what to do next?
thanks alot for the help
~James

Hey James, can't help you with Wookie... but I can help you with spelling. "A lot" not "alot". Come on, didn't your first grade teacher cover that?

Thats mean. Unless you know him then never mind. My tegu does the same thing, hes just trying to get out. I dont know what to do except maybe covering the inside of the plexiglass with some soft cloth so it doesnt rub so bad.
