light cycle

lastplace Oct 04, 2004 10:42 PM

I was reading a post below about light cycles and it made me wonder what everyone else is doing & success you guys have with it.

Heres what I do now:
UV flourescent bulb on: 10:00 a.m.
Basking lamp on: 1:00 p.m.
Basking lamp off: 10:00 p.m.
UV flourescent bulb off: 12:00 a.m.

I also have a red spectrum heat lamp on 24/7.

Like I said, I was just wondering what other people are doing and if anyone had suggestions.

I keep them on no advanced cycling honestly, I keep them on timers.

UV light, Basking, 2nd light source:7 AM

Off: 10 PM

offers them 15 hours of light, 1 more than usual but it usually works though I may leave it off earlier.
My beardeds seem to wake when I do and readily start eating as soon as I get prepped for school when I throw in some greens.
They do seem to slow down later.. seemingly they prefer Dawn to "wake up" and cool down nearing evening leaving me to believe that they prefer it to be Sun up= Hyper, about 6= Slugs.
I've only kept Beardeds for a year and they're still on Australian time so it's summer now to them,

mine seems to be the opposite.. i also have mine on for 15 hours at a time... although he seems to be much more active in the evening and sort of lazy for the first half of the day

Why don't you turn all the nights on at once? I only have a PowerSun UVB bulb, so it goes on in the morning and off at night.

I have all my lights come on at 5 am & shut off @ 7pm. I will be changing that time this week to get the ready for the winter months.
