We have a guy here in Bama that goes to every Dixie Show. I have started buying a couple months supply at a time. He has good prices and since I'm already there, I don't pay for shipping.
Now I have found a quail and rabbit breeder so I will buy some from him. It all works out if you are willing to do some serious looking.

I have contacted hundreds of rodent suppliers across the country and you get a few responses, very expensive shipping in comparison to rodentpro or theres one that tells you to email them and they will see about getting together an order, after which they never respond no matter how many emails it seems. Most wanted anywhere from 35-45 to ship an order from even nearby you, several quoted me 40-45 shipping for less than 5 hours driving distance, Rodentpro is 13-16 hours away from me and I get shipments for about $25.

I was quoted alot higher then that. I decided to go locally and it saved me big time on shipping fees. I get it shipped via ground and since they are in the same state it gets here overnight.

It beats having it sent ground taking 3 days and poaying double for shipping. That is of course none of the suppliers fault. It all depends where you live, how they ship, and how much your buying.

Moved on to either bigger and better things, went out of business, drank too much and became career alcoholics, switched to breeding dogs, disappear and reappear every couple of years, and are not reliable. Unfortunately its not easy to get a local supplier, nor is it easy to find one within a few hours of here that can match Rodentpros prices with shipping included, most charge $1.75-$3.00 for large rats, I buy 6 months worth in one order from them for less than half what they charge for the rats alone. One place was in New York less than 3.5 hours away, they charged $40-$45 shipping for 2nd day the same as Rodentpro, although Rodentpro is 13-16 hours away and I pay half of that. It depends where your at, and if the local guy is reliable. Suprisingly the lowest shipping and mouse prices Ive found yet are from over a thousand miles away, I just cant seem to ever get an order, Im not the only one who has that problem though.

sitting a thousand miles away not letting you order. haha

I must be lucky havn't ordered from that person yet but if I send an email I always get a reply.

I order thousands of rodents and chicks at a time. My quotes for shipping to me are always sky high if I try to go anyplace but locally. Guess I am lucky in that a big supplier is in my state.
Or I'd be dishing out a few hundred just for shipping.

I use rodentpro for mice for my snakes. To make the shipping cost effective, I order around $100 at a time. The box is well insulated and comes with a block of dry ice. Even after unpacking and storing the mice in my freezer, the dry ice lasts another day in my garage.
