I just set up my first vision cage with UV lighting and halogen lamps for heat. My temps are running 92 4inches from the bottom on the hot side and the mid 80's on the cool side. I mounted the halogen lamps onto wood, then mounted the wood into the vision. However with the lights on, there is a distinct plastic smell in the enclosure as well as the room. Is this normal? Will this hurt my bearded dragon?

Hmmmm, thats weird, maybe the bulb itself is getting the plastic or the wood too hot? I used to use a vision and had mounted a ceramic fixture right to the plastic and didnt have any problems, heat or smell wise. Maybe try disinfecting/cleaning the cage out first? Maybe its just something on the plastic if it is brand new? Chris
Thanks for your suggestions. I bleached it out really well today and added a fan to push in fresh air, I think maybe it'll be fine in a few days.
