PMSing

zoolady Oct 05, 2004 04:19 PM

I think my girl is PMSing. I mentioned before that she hasnt been interested in eating since the weather has cooled, (and I busted her light that was out for about a week) but now she is doing something else different. NOt only is she not caring for food, but she has returned to her old biting self again. She bit alot when I first got her. And it was about this same exact time of the season when I got her. Then about by Springtime she had mellowed out and never bit me since then. She never bit anyone since then. We handle her often. But now all the sudden she has gone back to that same attitude she used to have.
So now I am REALLY wondering if it is a seasonal thing. Though no one else here seems to have this problem during the winter?
I normally can handle her without gloves or anything. But now I have to again. Soon as she smells your skin she lets you have it. Just like a damn female. lol
Course I NEVER do that. :P

` It doesn't look like you're protecting your face, in the picture.
` Does she only bite your hands? If so, that could be significant.
` I have a very large adult male Yellow. He is absolutely tame; however, if you squeeze him, even a little bit, he gets angry. He'll insist on getting away from you, and if you stop him, he will sometimes bite your hands, but never hold on.

I guess maybe its hard to see, but I have her head held far away from my face and have enough of her body WELL HELD so she cannot slip through my hands and strike at my face. Enough body held she cannot reach my face.
That is my olny real concern when a snake bites me. It can bite my hands, arms, even my legs, I dont care. But I keep them away from my delicate face. The only scarless part of me.
Well, she is usally very tame as well. And she never holds on when she bites either. She has always biten if you move her like yours does, when she wants to go somewhere and is determined to get there and you move her to fast or anything she will turn and get you. But its always a quick bite and release.
The new bite is the way she used to do it though. She just slowly comes up to your hand or arm when you pick her up, flicking her toungue like mad, then as soon as she touches your skin with her toungue she tilts her head sideways then bites really fast then lets go. She will then usually wait for a few seconds before licking you again and biting again. She never holds on, never constricts. She just wants to go go go! Very insistant on being let down to explore and get free. A little more than usual. She is always intersted in exploring. But she normally will just sit in your hands comfortably if you dont want her down. She's moving faster than normal. If that makes sense? But again, she did this last year at the same time of the season. So I dont know why it happens with her and not others?
