Too good to last...

Everything went so well with the gopher snake that we tried our luck with a common king snake. We had it for a week, but over the weekend some of the maitinance guys wanted to look at the snake and they didn't put the books back on the top of the terrarium. I guess it is no surprize that "Elvis...the King" is gone. I don't really know how to go about finding him since it is possible that he got completely out of the room.

The students did get to see him eat a mouse - they LOVED IT! and a few of them held him before the great escape. I don't know if there is enough food for him to survive on campus, but I have seen lizards from time to time.

We'll keep our eyes open I guess,

Jake

If its a young king it should eat the lizards. I had an escaped king in August and she just turned up yesterday, under the porch. Its possible that your snake will turn up, and if so, you should relocate it to where you found it so it has a better chance to survive.

Hey man,

I told you a while back about my teacher's snakes back in 5th grade. We also had a Cal King named Elvis, but as all snakes seem to be, she was an escape artist. She was gone for nearly a month when she turned up in the neighboring classroom. Chances are it will turn up soon. In the meantime look under cabinets, in closets, under your desk, and the last place you look, I'll bet you find him.... =) sorry about the escape and I hope you find the bugger soon.
