Albino to Albino

Passport Jun 27, 2003 05:48 PM

It is true, right?, that breeding albino to an albino all offspring would be albino? What is the average size clutch of an average sized female? How long would it take to recoup the money invested if all went well? How many folks are doing just that? And if not, why not?

Yes

*What is the average size clutch of an average sized female?

1-16, though I've heard stories of larger clutches I usually *expect* between 4 and 8.

Not long

*How many folks are doing just that?

Not many

*And if not, why not?

It's just not as *easy* as they thought it would be!

I cant say for sure, but I think that alot of the Albinos Ball Pythons have been bred from a few imported Albinos. I think breeders breed Albinos to normals to produce hets to strengthen the bloodline. Too much inbreeding can be a bad thing. I could be wrong, maybe some experienced breeders will chime in.

This is true...however, remember too that there are many people who are just getting into morphs, and can only afford one at a time. They produce hets because that's all they can get...this time
