A due date is set...

purduecg Oct 06, 2004 07:54 AM

I am so excited! I finally have an expected arrival date for my new baby Egyptian Uro! Barring weather changes Zuberi Mosca Khu (strong, protected Mosca) should arrive on Wednesday! I am so giddy with excitement! I hope the name fits the new arrival, I have actually never named a pet before, without meeting it first. I will be sure to send pictures and keep everyone updating, I feel like an expectant mother and just had to share my excitement!!

One thing I am a little nervous about, I have never had a female Uro before. Does anyone know of a good source of info on that if I do end up with one? Do they lay eggs regardless of whether they have been fertilized? I hope I end up with a male. So many fewer questions that way, lol!

Congratulations on your baby coming this week.

I hope he/she turns out fine and I hope it turns out to be a he for you.

My brother's ex had a female mali and she never laid eggs unless she was "fertilized" so I don't think that will be a problem. If you are getting an actual baby uro then you probably won't have to worry about that for a long time.

I hope your waiting period for the animal goes by faster than mine did.

Good luck!

Why is it taking a month?

Are you getting a wild caught one or a baby from a breeder?

A baby from a breeder, but they were not ready to leave home yet when I put my deposit down. Hence the interminable wait!

Well that makes more sense now.

So how big is the baby you are going to get?

To be honest, I have no idea. I know that he/she is a few months old. That is about it.

How exciting!!! I'm completely jealous! I really wanted to get an Egyptian this year, but wasn't able to pull it all together. Archie is obviously healthy and well-loved, so your new little one is a super lucky little one!!

Congratulations!
