Ezra's trying to brumate

niki_athena Oct 06, 2004 01:10 PM

I keep Ezra and Annabella in the same tank and Ezra who's gotten quite a bit of chub on his tummy has decided to eat sparingly and sleep under the log in the dirt almost all day. Annabella's still eating as much as she can fit in her tummy. I think she's trying to chub up for winter. We are in temporarily living at a friend's place until we move in a few weeks to our new home in northeastern Nevada. The only difference in Ezra's life has been a drop in temperatures for the cool side of the tank from 80-82 to 78 F (house temps). I have decided to stop him by pulling him out warming him up and massaging his little body until he wants to be active for a few to several hours. Any suggestions?

Here's a photo of the trio in the living room after I got them all to fall asleep by petting them on the heads.

Thanks for all the helpful information in regards to past posted messages, the questions others ask and have answered I benefit from.

everybody else will slow down , at those temps.

Even the cool side should be in the upper 80's to 90 the

basking area should be 100 - 105 sometimes in the later

afternoon it may go to 110 still acceptable ! Collareds like it Hot !

Your picture / collareds are exceptionally PRETTY !

Sounds like I should get an undertank heater for them that will encompass the whole bottom before I move. I measured the heat under the basking temperature at 105.

But , yes the rest of the tank at high 70's or 80 is to low, have to kick it up somehow to the high 80's or 90 like I said earlier, and you should be fine!

Thank you as far as the yeller girls, I love them also, heheheh

It is COOL to see everyones collareds on here, they are ALL so different looking, so many color combinations,

I love to see the pics!
