3 months old, 6 meals in past 6 weeks, no poo

shelby514 Oct 06, 2004 04:30 PM

I try to tell myself I'm paranoid, like I was when she was 6 weeks old and hadn't eaten yet. But in the past 6 weeks, she's eaten a pinky, 2 fuzzies, and 3 hoppers. I've been feeding her once a week and she always seems like she's hungry for more. But no poo in six weeks makes me nervous. Last night when I picked her up she didn't coil up around me hand, just kinda hung there (maybe its not related and I'm just nervous...keep telling myself that). There is the small white stuff, but none of the normal mini-dog-poo looking emissions. She's active as ever, always cruising around, seems healthy, eating like a champ, but theres the lack of tightening and the feeling that if i poked her she would pop. I've soaked her in warm water amd massaged her and figure I'd wait it out at this point. But I thought I'd throw it out there for those more experienced that me. Thanks in advance!!!!

No poo, no problem. If she's active and eating, just hang in there. My ball python went 3 months without poo, then one day bam! It'll be alright, just keep the temps in range and fresh water.

Thats all I needed to feel better all around about it. I wanted to make sure no one went "Oh my god, the poor thing, why aren't you doing this.....". So thank you so much for the reassurance!

there could be shed not visable to the eye that can be holding back that better stuff--not to mention it is a young snake and sometimes they need help--soak her in warm water-a little warmer than usual bukt not hot---give it a little place(a branch or log) where there is just enough space to partially get out of the water if it is too hot --make sure the containter has a top to keep moisture in -0-it should look like a rain chamber after a few minutes of closing the lid---remember if the water feels hot to your skin it is even hotter for the snake--but the water should be warwm enough to stay warm temp for at least half an hour if not more--it should solve you problelm
