its illegal to ship anything live in the mail without the words LIVE HARMLESS SPECIMIN then the genus species name. air holes and arrows up are reccomended. fragile/keep cool is also recommended. It's (felony i think?) to ship via USPS. You either gotta know a shipping center that will let you do it, i'd get it written because under threat of being fired people tend to forget very quickly that they gave permission for that...i'd say 100% of shipping snakes is against company regulations, lol. Just don't try with the USPS...thats a felony (i think).

I have heard that the usps will ship lizards and amphibians but not snakes...i dont know this for fact, but i wouldnt ship with them even if it was ok...government already gets enough of my money they dont need any more
I think most of the shipping is done with the dont tell approach

I have purchased 5 snakes offline through lllreptile and they have the arrows and perishable but no air holes and i tell the driver its medicines etc, never tell them it's live harmless snakes, the box might disappear. I ordered from another place and the whole 9 yards was done to the box and the words harmless snakes, i perfer the secret kind of way but either or the box will get inspected if need be and someone will get busted if procedures not followed.

FedEX does a wonderful job with animals. Again, you must mark "harmless non-venomous test species" or something to that effect on the box. My neighbor, a breeder, ships live mice around the entire eastern U.S. FedEx with no problems.

There are lots of rules and regs, depending one who you are shipping with and what you are shipping.

The best recommendation I can offer is to go to the Kingsnake.com Shipping forum. But before you post a question there, scroll down the forum and read the replies to the dozens of others who have posted similar questions.
