Red Axanthic with Lesser

Corey Woods Oct 06, 2004 09:12 PM

I was asked in another forum to post pictures of a Red Axanthic beside my Lesser Platty. I figured I'd post the pics here as well.

Here are a few pics of my Lesser male with my Red Axanthic female. This is a different female than the one posted a couple days ago. This one is closer in size to the Lesser male. I had about 1 minute to take pics before everyone went all squirly and this is what came out.

Lesser with Red Axanthic female

Lesser, Red Axanthic and normal.

Lesser with Red Axanthic (Head Shots). You can see in both these pics the broken eye stripe on the Red Axanthic (all 4 have them) that makes them look like they have 2 dots above their nostrils.

Enjoy,
Corey

Please excuse my ignorance, but could someone please explain the differences between a Red Axanthic and a Burgundy Ball python? They look the same to me.

Easy, one's an Axanthic and one isn't. (Hint: the Red Axanthic is the Axanthic).

Technically there's no yellow on a burgundy so isn't that also an axanthic?

This is how you tell the difference........They are axanthic as babies.
