No sooner said than.......POOO!

severa Oct 07, 2004 12:23 AM

It is 1:30 am and I just had a significant...errr...rather the veild had a significant break through, literally.
I had just got done spraying him down and he suddenly became restless(He has not deficated in the week and one day that he had been passed on to me). I ran some luke warm water in the sink and created a shallow pool and put him in. I sat and watched him soak for 10 minutes as he seemed real uncomfortable. Next thing I knew, out came uria, followed by gerber apricot, followed by dark matter.
I took the darker matter out and started to pick through what I thought was going to be cricket. Instead, what I found it to be was Repti-bark! Three pieces of Repti-bark with a little cricket matter and a little romane. The first thing I did when I received him was that I took the bark out. I am now wondering how much more may be in him.
Anyhow, I wanted to touch base with this as some of you have been following the progress of this guy. For those of you just reading this for the first time, I know picking through poo sounds morbid but after the struggle i have been going through with him, it is worth the progress!
Thanks yall!

Wow, glad I dont use any substrate. This applies to my theory of what can happen will when it comes to items in the cage that can be swallowed. Picking through the pooh is not morbid, I do it all the time.

Wow. I'm glad he got that out!! No WONDER he was doing the fetal thing.. probably just trying to push one out, poor guy. Hopefully once it is all passed through his system he will start eating more and feeling better.

I suddenly feel like I'm in South Park

very glad to hear about this! You should save this thread for anyone who asks about substrate. Hopefully that was it but if not it is at least a beginning. Is there something that can soften stool in a cham? The fruit baby food probably helped.

As for picking thru poop - that's nothing some of us post pix of cham poop and then discuss it for a few days! LOL!!!

I sure hope your little guy continues to improve - obviously he is in very competent and caring hands
