female leo

Hi everyone! I have an 8.5 inch LTC leopard tortoise female. I have had her for 5 years and she has been extremely healthy. What I am wondering is what are the pros and cons for breeding or not breeding. Things are going great so far, but I wanted to make sure that it won't cause a problem if she does not breed/lay eggs.

...Breeding: some are in for the fun...some are in for the $...some are in for the fun but need to make some $ to offset their fun's maintanance/service cost...some are in for other reasons (wc vs. cb)...once all that's aside and at the other end of the breeding scale: anyone can tell you there's nothing more fullfill a turtles/tort person than seeing a bambino emerging from the egg in their backyard (just look @ them braggers down along these posts )

Since your's are almost at that stage which seems a natural thing to do, the only drawback you might have is intro the new boy to your LTC gal so take extra cautious when the time come as you know how sensitive/suceptive to desease thes leos are...there's always that horrible story (on tortoisetrust ) on the back of our mind

the choice is still yours

I would be interested in breeding...I would love to have some babies around and support the CB effort. I don't want to risk her health though, she is my pet and making a profit is not a concern.
