Adult size pic with me in it...

viandy Oct 07, 2004 08:44 AM

About a week ago someone had asked for posts of people with their adult bloods. I wanted to see them, too, but there were no responses. So here's another try to start it.
I'm holding my female Sumatran short-tail. She was proven last year and seems to be in nice shape for the coming season. I should have worn a white shirt for the pic so she wouldn't blend in!

Right now I use 4.5 x 3 x 17 inch tall visions. The blood on top for warmer cage, and the boa on the bottom.I also use the blanket box for my neonate bloods(left hand side of pic).

A humid hide box left a big water bowl and dry hides to the right.I have heat pads under the humid hide.a lamp for ambient temps.all my cages are on temp gauges. Thanks for looking.

Nice cages!
However, it is a pretty serious hazard to have a heat light inside of the cage. Snakes can easily burn themselves on an exposed bulbs and they can easily knock it over and start house fire.

Hey Lindsey,
I have a funny feeling that Big knows that, and just put that into the cage, to light that corner for easier viewing of the dark corner by the viewers.

Angel is right I use a low wattage ceramic bulb for ambient temps,it's in the dome.My ultimate wish list is a freedom cage JUMBO-48 X 30 X 8.5.The only problem is,a complete rack cost $2,189.19 cents. So for now I have to settle for 4 x 2 x11.5 from boaphile. Thanks for the reply.

Hey,
Now that's impressive! I love them blacks, something about them I just can't get enough of. Are you also, located in the UK?

Best pic I could find of me and Big Boi, my severly mutated male Borneo. We both look fairly weird in it.. I'm 5'8" about 170 lbs, he's around 5'6", 20 lbs and still growing =0 Your missin about 2 ft of him in the back there, but its hard enough to get him to stay still holding him like that, he's not nearly that dark either my digi is a little goofy with colors sometimes. I'll see if I cant get a better pic and some cage pics in the next few days.

pssttt, I'm the blonde

Jordan,so that's what you look like.Great looking borneo, wish I could say that about the other. Yeah I have the same problem with my digital cam.The flash bulb throws a yellow flash.Natural sunlight Is the only reliable source for light,as for now.

He was 5 foot about 25 pounds I just had him put down not that long ago, I got him when he was sick plus the person didnt know his age, he just said he had him for 4 years and he was big. I kept him around 6 months and he would get better then go right back to weezing bubbling and stuffed up nostrils tried 3 different meds on him but just would not stay healthy. He was a cool snake and it was worth tring!

viandy Oct 11, 2004 03:15 PM

gave him a chance. It must have been a very tough decision to put him down. But when it's the right decision, it shouldn't be put off.
