Ready for a new corn, can you recommend from the Classifieds

mobmilli92 Oct 07, 2004 09:05 AM

Hello,

We are ready to add another corn to our family. Right now I'm interested in the candycane's that are listed on the classifieds but wondered what other's experience was when using the classifieds.

Plmk who you strongly recommend. We will be needing our snake shipped since none are likely to local MS area.

thanks in advance

Why not try Kathy Love at www.cornutopia.com or Don Soderberg at South Mountain reptiles (www.cornsnake.net)- big names when it comes to corns. There are also a few breeders that frequent this forum as well.

Of the people who have an ad currently posted in the classifieds, I would recommend VMS Herps and Snakes Alive!. I can't speak to the quality of their candycanes, as I've never bought any candycanes from anyone, but I can speak to the quality of their snakes in general.

And of course, you can't go wrong with SMR, Corn-Utopia, and [bleep], though none of them has an ad in the classifieds presently (SMR is the only one I see there on occasion).

I've only purchased snakes online once before. Most of my business is done with my local pet store (NOT Petco or PetSmart). I got 7 beautiful baby corns from Jim Hopkins in Florida. He does have a few ads posted in the Corn Snake classifieds right now, but you can also check out his website. I'll post a link below... hopefully I won't get in trouble. The cool thing about his corns is that they are all multi-hets, so breeding 2 normals could result in anything from zig-zag anerys to banded hypos, and anything in between. All in all, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend him. Take care
