I was wondering if you could fill all the pit fans here on info regarding the historic event regarding the lineaticollis that you guys offered.
I'll do my best!
Such as any locale info,
Cuernevaca, Mexico is all we have. There was no specific hunting trip or expedition to 'found' this cool species.
The founder was a gravid female purchased at a Mexico City pet store! Odd how things go aint it?!? The breeder a reptile zoo in Mexico City.
how the U.S. breeder aquired them
He got them as CB babies from the breeder who is a Mexican citizen. There are documents on them because of the zoo origin.
and maybe how he kept them
He has said he keeps them in an office without additional heat. Mid 70'sF except for hibernation.
We, however, are keeping them in a store that is 80 F 24/7 and the two we get to keep have a 88F hotspot that is definitely used after feeding. It is my feeling that low temps are not necessary. And a basking spot is a must. They do use it.
anything else of significance. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
I think the most significant thing is that they tolerate warm temps quite nicely.
I also know he put them together in January. Every baby ate from the first mouse offered. None have refused, ever. Most are tame and all should grow up to be big beauties. I have an awesome photo of the breeder holding the biggest female. As soon as I get my scanner installed, I'll scan it and share it here.
That is it for now. I'll be glad to answer as many other questions as I can. I have checked the email notification box so further posts to this thread will be sent to me. I like this forum because you guys are regular guys. I am very busy so no forum gets every day looksees. Please use this thread or I may not get it for awhile!
