Need advice from anyone in Atlanta area

chicagopsych Oct 07, 2004 06:59 PM

I have a friend who just took a hospital job in Atlanta. She has a small kingsnake (that I bought her) that has not fed since she moved there. She has gone to several pet stores only to be told that they do not sell feeder mice and do not know any pet stores that do. Because the snake is so small frozen mice sold in bulk is not a practical option. If anyone is familiar with this city please help. Thank you very much.

Not from Atlanta, but I DO know it's a big city. I KNOW someone has mice for your snake. Just grab a phone book and call a bunch of pet stores - you WILL find one that has mice of the size you need. Atlanta is huge. Don't take one or two peoples word for it - THERE ARE mice in some of those pet stores. Some stores may not want you to give up their mice for snake food. So just say you want a little mouse - PERIOD! If they ask, tell them it will make someone very happy - (your kingsnake), (that way you are not lying ). I have been to Atlanta several times and I know how huge it is!!!
Don't give up yet, and good luck. I know you'll find some (mice).

Good advise from blueking. I know a mouse breeder that supplies most of the pet shops in the Atlanta area. He delivers pinkies and fuzzies to them on wednesdays for the very purpose of feeding snakes. I can't give you his phone # but I can tell you there are several pet shops that carry mice for snakes in Atlanta. If you still can't find any then email me and I will set you up.

Thanks for the help. I will pass along the info. I think part of the problem is that the phone company is taking forever to get her phonebooks that would allow for an easier search. I will pass aloung the tips though. Thanks

If she doesn't have a phonebook have her locate a payphone at a mall or shoping center and look for a petstore that sells reptiles then she should be able to get her mice. Paul
