3 toed box turtle question

just was wondering how hard it is to keep these turtles? never had one, i have had water turtles and also i currently have a sulcata, but my wife would like a smaller turtle for her, so was wondering how hard is the care for them? any info is appreciated

It's fun, but can be a lot of work. You will need to do A TON of research before you consider getting them. You can't have any dogs that will be able to get to them, and very careful around the turtles with kids. 3 toed Box turtles need an extremely varied diet, so you'll have to be willing to buy the things they can eat, know what they can't, and prepare a meal for them three times a week. You'll also need to know the symptoms of diseases. I don't know how many diseases your tortoise can get, but box turtles can get a lot, so you'll need to do a lot of research and buy a few books. Keeping up their pen (WHICH SHOULD BE OUTSIDE) is a lot of work, too. I'm always constatly changing the landscape so they don't get bored. If you have anymore questions just ask.
