Have you done any test breeding with that snake ? Are there any others like it ? My comments were prompted by the fact to me that snake looks a bit different but not strikingly so. Maybe pics dont do it justice ??? Terry Im not doubting you just asking more questions as you seem to have taken offense to my previous post.

Keith,

Now I am!

I didn't before. Really. I just re-read my response and I still don't see anything in it to suggest that i did. Try re-reading it, imagining it's just the UN-defensive response from a person providing information--neutrally, objectively.

Your question was a good one, and it raised issues i've been considering and discussing for months. I was just trying to lay out some of those thoughts. I hope anyone wondering whether i did take offense or not will read the reply you're referring to and decide for themselves (link to it is below).

But i hope you will read it again too, see if it sounds different the second time. I don't want you or anyone else to stop asking challenging questions, that's the only way we move ahead. I didn't have any feelings when i read your post that would have prompted me to take offense. Unless my subconscious...wwooooo--oooo--

peace all!

What other anerys have you seen? Are any lampropeltis "anerys" true anerys, wholly lacking the red/yellow pigment? ("anery" agalma sometimes start out red or pinkish red and fade to "anerythristic" appearance with time, right? yet some look "anery" (actually hypoerythristic) as soon as they hatch. now THERE is a confusing morph, and maybe a bad example to throw into this discussion. so what else have you seen?)

I guess I detected rightly or wrongly a bit of agitation ??? in asking me twice what Anery snakes Ive seen. Terry its hard to detect someones level of irritation on a forum lol. Sorry I misread it.

Keith,
thanks for understanding. though i can see how someone could read the comment you quote & infer agitation, there was absolutely NONE in my comments, my question(s) ! were asked out of honest ignorance, i don't know the facts on any of the other anery tricolors--what exists, and whether or not they show any traces of red or yellow pigment. It's good we cleared the air. Now, back to those several tricolors you cite--they're all STARK Black & white, no hint of red or yellow pigment in them?
As has been suggested--by jeff t maybe?--there may very well appear someday a true, stark b&wh anery pyro (or hondo, for that matter), so all the better to start using the correct "hypoerythristic" term now, avoid confusion later. I for one hope such a morph does appear. The more the merrier.

hey shannon,

and all were stark black and white, no hint of red or yellow pigment, however slight, as in the hondos?

Well,The taylori I had was full blown anery with hints of any other colors. She was w/c as a adult and I had her for seven years and was never able to get her to breed? She died last year right out of hibernation.

The Amaura looked all black and white to me as well but I sold mine before it got very big and I have never seen a adult?Jeff teel had one as well?Maybe he still has his?
