Food bowl question.

Paullywog Oct 07, 2004 09:26 PM

So I have a food bowl in my leopard gecko's tank. I put in mealworms or crickets with their jumping legs off in it. My question is: can i have a little oatmeal in the bottom for the mealworms or crickets to munch on? Will it hurt my leo if ingested on accident? Thanks!

If it has scales or smooth wet skin... snatch it!!!

I would say use it with caution. If it is a baby leo, i wouldn't do it, if it is an adult it should be ok but definatly only put a little and keep an eye on it. I have seen oatmeal cause impactions and death in small tree frogs, so just be cautious.
