jwthought... more i forgot to add

I'm sure you already know this, but try and feed her at least 3 hours before lights out. even earlier if you can. With all the strain on her system you don't want the food rotting in there overnight. That'll give it a chance to digest a bit.
ALSO, make sure you keep an eye on the cat food. I'm not sure if you have the same stuff i had, but it went bad fast, even in the fridge. it will change colour, and smell first less cat-foody (lol) then really bad. Only use the same can for 2-3 days tops, her immune system will be compromised and this way you don't have to worry about bacteria.
AND, which im sure you also already know, make sure to get lots of water into her. It may help to write down everything you give her by syringe or eyedropper (food/water) and keep a record so you know where she is at. That way if her appetite drops off you know where you stand, or if she eats a lot more you will notice.
I'm not sure if i forgot anything else... sorry my replies are so long!!

Thanks so much for looking out for us. I bought that cat food but luckily Lola decided she wanted to eat regularly today. I fed her twice today as much as she wanted, which came to about 15 crix. I was thrilled to see her with such a big appetite. She still seems a bit weak, but I am finally feeeling confident about this whole ordeal. I will start writing everything down. Thats a great idea, as I have alot of other animals as well and sometimes their eating/drinnking habits are a little difficult to keep up with on my own. Thanks again for the advice. I'll keep you updated.

Yeah, food is one of the first ways to tell if something is wrong... I only have one cham, and the rest are geckos (for lizards anyway) so I don't worry about writing it down, but I try and keep an eye on it.
Lele, i'll try and get a pic of orions tummy too, we can compare war wounds lol. she has one that matches mine (I had a laparonomy (sp?) two years ago) lol. like mother like daughter....

Isn't it timely of the administrators to put a "breeding chameleons" article on the home page? Maybe they picked up on our convo. Anyway, Lola was very dark today and she is still on the bottom of the enclosure. I'm up then down, up then down....I am confident one minute, worried to death the next... any more advice from my support group? haha

Hi Josh,
Is she doing anything odd while she is down there? Is she spending her whole day there or does she come up to eat or drink? I sympathize with your rollercoaster of emotions

Yeah, I'm pretty excited, too. I would love to send pics, but my camera is getting repaired right now, (just like my cham). That stitched up cut is nasty looking! Poor thing. I also have a pic of the operation itself that the vet took. I thought that it was pretty interesting, but I dont know if its appropriate for this site. It's pretty graphic. If you want to see them, though, i can send them to you. I would have to find a scanner first. I was thinking about what you said earlier about a gravid cham forum. That really would be a great idea. We should look into that. I have no idea how do accomplish such a thing, of course.
