Well, I brought my beardie on a road trip from Minnesota to New Jersey. I used an AC Inverter to power a basking bulb in the car.
I was able to feed it while we were on the road, so I assume it wasn't carsick. The beardie wouldn't eat much the first day after we arrived at our destination, or the first day we were back home.
Overall, I think it was better to have the beardie along, because during the time I was there, I was able to feed it more regularly than if I had left it home and had someone stop in once a day to feed it.
It was also fun to have a beardie on the beach, although we didn't do that very much.
