New Children's Python not eating

WVherper Oct 08, 2004 10:50 AM

I just received a Children's Python a couple days ago. The breeder did not feed him before shipping, so he has gone a week without eating. I was told he was eating live or f/t pinkies about every 4-6 days. He shows no interest at all, any advice?
He is now in a 20gal long tank, nice and warm on one end with a 10 degree drop to the other side, lots of hiding places and a big water dish.

Thanks so much for any help!

How old is he? If he is a baby what someone suggested to me and worked with all 15 of my neonates was a couple inches of fluffy substrate. (they said aspen, I used Carefresh) to hide in. Even with an older snake this may work well.
I would also give him another week. Don't handle him, just let him chill and get to know his new enclosure. Then try.
