I am having problems with parazap

bones76 Oct 08, 2004 11:45 AM

I just received it, and dusted his crix with it. He grabbed a cricket, and immediately spit it out, like it was very nasty or so, and kinda ran from the food bowl. I then tasted the parazap, and it tasted very nasty. I mean right after I tasted it, I ran to get a drink. I then made a tea of it, it also was very bad tasting. I can't imagine him drinking this, or eating anything with this dusted on it. I then diluted it a whole, whole lot in calcium powder, and tried that. I could still taste it, but nowhere near as much. I dusted 2 crickets, and put them in. He ate them. I know wanna know, since it is so highly diluted will it work? I also wanna know if is being so diluted can I use it daily with his calcium powder, or can taken it daily be harmful?

I would not give it on a daily basis other than the days recommended.
Think you give it for 5 days as a preventative, and then stop, or a few days longer if you know they have worms. But then you stop.

I would try the tea and shoot it in his mouth if ya can with an empty syringe tube, or eye dropper. Or dust the crickets lightly with it and leave them in there and see what happens when hes hungry.

I think diluting it, will just not work as well. I'm sure you did not like the taste, hehehehe LOL, very herbal -ly

It smells like KA , KA
Hahhahah ! But some don't seem to mind much.

I personally would not enjoy the taste of Dog food or cat food, but they eat it!

Keep trying it will only help him!

discovered something that you can use for future advice. My mother is diabetic. I made the tea, and took the syringe filled it with the te, and injected the crix. He ate them no prob, so I guess that is the method I am gonna use. I appreciate the help. Thnx

My bearded doesn't like parazap either but if I get him really worked up for the cricket then throw it in quick its usually chewed up and down his throat before he can spit out.
