Here's what I'm thinking of doing...please let me know what I think

gwright86 Jun 27, 2003 09:09 PM

I'm looking to produce quadruple homozygous animals down the road....and other weird things....here's what I'm thinking of buying:
Butter Motley Male to breed with an opal female and amber female
A pair of snow het lav to breed with each other (yes, I know that will only give triple homozygous)

What do you think? Thanks.

There are a few things that just haven't been proven out yet. It appears that some mutations cancel out or overide others, like anery and Lavender. All you may get from the Snows het Lav is a bunch of Snows, or such a slight variation that you can't tell the Lavender snakes.
Caramel and Lav may not play well together either. Seems like the darker mutations tend to have one dominate the other.

BUT.......don't take my word on it, you never know when something may pop up and surprise us all!
