How to attach a heat pad to a ceiling?

buffysmom Oct 08, 2004 03:37 PM

I've used the white "plumbing & heating" duct tape, but I've taped the hell out of these human heating pads & the tape keeps coming unstuck. I'm attaching it to melamine. Any suggestions? I don't want to risk stapling/nailing the actual pads...

Lol! I knew you'd have trouble with that.

If the pads aren't too flexible, you may use extruded aluminum pieces to support them. Home Depot and others sell extruded aluminum channel and angle, and you can fix this over the heat pad (probably use 2 or 3 pieces) and screw it into the melamine on each end. This way you can slide any heat pad under each shelf.

You can also try silicon adhesive, but IMO adhesives aren't the answer. Better to have the heater easily removable if needed (because I guarantee you'll have to sooner or later.)
