Pinkys Or Fuzzies?

LordOfTheLizards Oct 08, 2004 03:56 PM

What would i feed to a young (12-30 inch) mexican black king/?

pinkys (1-3 inches) or fuzzies (same)

which would be better?

and does any1 know some good care sheets on these animals? thanx, im thinking of getting one

also if i order from rodentpro.com are they alive or deaD? and if threy are dead can u just drop a mouse into the aquarium and leave? cuz its just i have a bit of problems with feeding live animals and i wouldnt be able to kill my own mice, thats why i want pre-killed (and I think rodentpro.com sells em pre-killed)

thanx

the answer for a 12" is going to be entirely different than for a 30".

i think you should ask rodentpro.

have to be thawed first: if someone else is killing them for you they've got to be frozen to be sent to you, and you can't drop a frozen food item in with the snake.

Rodentpro sells dead. They ship them to you frozen and there a couple ways you can have them shipped. a 12 inch snake will eat big pinkies and a 30 inch will eat full grown mice and or weaned or small rats. The frozen food item needs to be defrosted and warmed up in warm water. ( not nuked in a micro). Before you drop it in gently squeeze the belly and make sure it doesn't get cold if it does the center is still frozen and if the snake eats it , it will lead to problems. Also see if you can find a local rodent breeder the shipping can be a killer if you don't order enough. For exp last night i did an out of state mock order to see what shipping was and it came to $540 but that was for a few thousand mice, rats and rabbits. Hope this helps if you have any more question don't be afraid to post them theres a lot of good people here. Paul
