Greens and Water

eternal Oct 08, 2004 07:37 PM

Hi,

Havent been here in a while , but i need some help with this.

Ever since my beardies have been drinking more water, they havent eaten their greens. Does this have anything to do with each other. I have a male & a female together.
I have another male separate in another tank. They all used to eat their greens everyday. ive been giving them water by hand more this summer and they drink alot . Ive noticed all of them stopped eating their greens . They are all about 1 1/2 to 2 years. Any suggestions?

thanks

Drinking more water quite possibly could affect your beardies' desires to eat greens, since they get so much moisture from them. Are you hand dripping them water every day? I have a 24" female german giant who is 4 years old. She gets and eats greens/veggies every day, and crix or superworms every other day. I also spray her twice a week, allowing the water to run into her mouth--she likes it. If she has been sprayed the day before, I cut back on the portion size of greens. Over time I observed that she wasn't eating as much the day after spraying.
Hope this helps. . .
regards,
althea
