Shedding and eating (rare occurance) !!

calvo Oct 09, 2004 12:19 AM

This is not so much a problem as a suprise to me,

My male bull as greedy as he is does not even stop eating during his shed phase. He has grown beautifully during the last year and eats / sheds very well.

However on 2 occasions now he has gone in and out of the blue stage so quickly that i have not noticed and on 2 occasions he has stuck his head out of his hide to recieve his meal and been hiding the fact that he is half way through a shed (i.e. his skin is half way down his body)

I only noticed this when i checked later to make sure he had eaten, at which stage very happy with his mouse, he finishes his shed and then goes back to his hide.

Has anyone else experienced this ???

just a great indication that he's healthy and focused on eating.

i have two indigos, two bulls, and three corns that do the same thing. makes the feedings stay right on schedule.

I have several Bulls, Sonorans, and Northerns that will eat while cloudy. If I see that they are, I don't thaw food for them, but if I don't catch it and have stuff thawed already, I'll go ahead and give it to them.
