Lancaster Ca cruising 10-8

metalpest Oct 09, 2004 01:53 AM

Another night of cruising tonight, 9 snakes in all. Mostly mojave rattlesnakes (3 AOR, 3 DOR), but also a southern pacific AOR, DOR gopher, and an AOR glossy. All were babies except the gopher, which may have been a year or two old. One mojave had 3 segments on its rattle, that was the biggest one. Id say the others were 10 inches in length.

Here one of the mojaves:

Here is the helleri, which had a belly full and was looking to rest for the night.

Finally, the baby glossy, which was found near the end of the hunt past 10 pm.

Nice pics! I also found (and rescued) a helleri today, along with a San Diego Gopher, and a Cal King.
Heres a pic of the helleri!

What area in Lancaster do you hunt? Any luck out near Pearblossom/Little Rock area?

Never tried there. These were found out near the poppy field. We have found mojaves out on the roads heading out of Lake LA though.
