You want to breed roaches for fun or food? If you just want roaches to have roaches, get whatever floats your boat. If you want food roaches I for chameleons I would recommend a non-glass-climbing species like anything in the genus Blaberus or Eublaberus, or Blaptica dubia, just get something that is size appropriate for your chameleons. A lot of people recommend lobster roaches and they are good food and breed like, well roaches, but they are a general pain in that they are difficult to feed, with the non-glass-climbers you can just dump them in a bowl and let the chameleons feed from there.

I want them for food. i hate cricket. i been told that lobster roaches breed super fast and give life bird. which non glass climber is good?
forget the lobster roaches, as pointed out they are a pain. i always had to hold them with forceps and hope that Luna would go for it. if they get loose in the cage and it is an egg carrying female you are in BIG trouble!
If I do roaches again I think I would go with the orange heads. People recommend them a lot and they don't climb glass (or food cups)
here's an article all about roaches. check out the links in the article for more info and sources - have fun!
