Looks like Ultra may be a grey-rat hybrid morph...

Kat Oct 09, 2004 03:00 PM

Several people have been doing some digging into the history of the ultra line, and it turns out that the ultra line of corns are probably grey rat hybrids... Rather than repost the entire info here, email me and I'll send you to the site it's on (KS won't allow links to be posted to there...). Or, if you know where to find the 'other' forums, check under the 'Ultra Mystery' thread, starting on page 26, 3 posts from the bottom...

10 minutes after I got a pair of ultra hypos I went to mark bell's table..where Keith..who works tables for them.says to me...you know it's a grey rat hybrid? right?...I says....hmm....no...don't know..and if people would know they would stop buying and selling them....

I have a male yet and one of his kinked dwarf daughters......

he is 7?....maybe 6....and he never ate a mouse yet...always eats....peromyscus,rat,hamsters....

he hates me....he has the attitude that would make a grey rat proud.........LOL

....but I have a pair of hypo emoryi crosses that hate me too.......

and a motley het hypo and caramel that really hates me......

.....lots of whacko attitudes without the odd crossed gene..so that didn't prove it for me....

?.....anyone breed a grey rat to a ultra and see what they get?.....

...I am breeding an ultra to an amel this year to see what I get.....

before I dump them all..........make room for balls.......

I missed this the other day. However, I made some calls, and it seems that this is not the only gene to be outed shortly. It is becoming a very strange world in the realm of corns, I must say.

I'm really sorry I was unable to breed and sell them as a business due to shipping instability in my area. However, it may have been a blessing in disguise, the way the market is being shaken about!

Who knows...
