Tree frogs?

make_urself Jun 27, 2003 10:34 PM

I was just curious. Has anyone ever tried putting tree frogs in a snake tank for decor. Not that thers a reason for it, but i was given four frogs free from a bud at the pet shop and i found that they make a nice little decoration and the snake doesnt tend to see it as a food source. Just a little topic starter.

sure. why not. if you've got them in there with a decent sized burm, i doubt that he'd even bother with trying to eat them, 'cept maybe around feeding time. but i think other snakes, eg amazon tree boas, would go after them in a snap. there could possibly be some concern about skin toxins and what not, but i doubt that'd be much of an issue with most tree frogs. (green trees?) all-in-all, i like the idea. i like the interesting inter-species display thing, though many purists would frown.
